Problems

Scheduling and clinic wait times are painfully long.

Patients often face long wait times when trying to schedule an appointment, whether it’s on the phone or in-person at the clinic, hindering their ability to utilize this time more productively.

Goals

To eradicate the time patients waste on long phone hold times, reaching a clinic representative, and waiting in the waiting room to meet with a medical specialist.

Solutions

Create a mobile app for easy appointment scheduling and management with real-time updates with the focus on:

  • Enabling users to conveniently schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments

  • Providing users with real-time updates to reduce uncertainty and allow users to plan accordingly

Competitor Analysis

Strengths

Comprehensive Search Functionality

  • Provides robust search capabilities, allow users to easily find doctors and healthcare services based on criteria e.g. location, specialty, ratings

Detailed Doctor Profiles

  • Offers extensive profiles for each doctor including their credentials, areas of expertise, patient reviews etc.

FindDoc, an online platform that allows patients to make medical appointments online

Weaknesses

Limited Mobile App Experience

  • Unable to provide a fully optimized mobile app experience as a website-based platform, which is important for patients who prefer to access healthcare services on-the-go

Cluttered Information Architecture

  • Unable to present relevant information in a clear and concise manner, potentially overwhelming users with too many options or details

Recognizing the need to be prudent with the company's time and resources, we have selected these specific screens as the most vital features to assess the feasibility and advantages of incorporating a queuing feature into our current telemedicine app.

Next Steps…

  1. Usability Testing. I’ll be conducting usability testing sessions to gather feedback on the MVP's design, functionality, and overall user experience. This will help identify pain points, areas for improvement, and ensure the app aligns with user needs.

  2. Iterative Design Improvements. I’ll then analyze the insights from the usability testing and make design improvements to the MVP based on user feedback.
